Flutter of Joy...

 Morning folks,

It's been a busy week, I'm just back from my big birthday holiday up north which was fab, the weather was glorious, the scenery is amazing and we actually saw lots of dolphins this time...they were soooo cool!  Only a few more weeks until we are back again!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

The theme for this challenge is "clean and simple".

For my card I have used this sweet butterfly set from Altenew, I stamped the butterflies with archival ink and added some subtle watercolours to the image.  I then added some splashes and sequins to finish.

Pop over to the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog to check out what my teamies have made.

Happy Birthday...

 Good morning folks,

So, it's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin challenge Blog.

The theme this fortnight is Birthday girls.  I had bought this new stamp a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to use it....I thought it would be perfect for a girl.

I stamped the image with memento ink and coloured with copics, I have really neglected my copics so it was good getting them back out again.  I added some little splashes, a couple of enamel dots and some glitter to finish off.

Pop over to the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the team have made.

Challenges:
My Time to Craft - mixed colour florals
Krafty Chicks - all occassions
Seize the Birthday - spring florals

Be Positive...

Morning folks,

Time for a new challenge over on the Less is More Challenge blog.

Theme is to make a one layer card and there's also a photo to give you some inspiration.

I can't believe we are into August already, it will soon be Christmas ha ha!

For my card I stamped this daisy with memento ink and coloured with caran d'ache pencils....I do love those pencils and really need to practice with them.  I have actually used seven different colours to colour this daisy...I did blend them and I used off white colours too as I wanted the flower to pop out against the white card.

It's your birthday...

Morning folks,

I am hoping my post does post as scheduled.

By the time this posts I will have been on holiday since Wednesday up north and doggy friendly.  I have had such a hard couple of months at home with my dad and then at work....I was in so much need of a holiday and I'm sure by the time you read this I will be enjoying my time off.

The theme this month over on the Stamping Sensations blog  is anything goes with the option of using a stencil...remember you still need to stamp too.

The prize this month is well two prizes, mixed media bundle from Oakwood Direct and two stencils

For my card I stamped the image using archival ink and watercoloured the image, I also added a bit of colour to some texture paste and added to the card with the help of a stencil...not quite the look I was going for but I think it looks ok.  I stamped the big sentiment and die cut it and layered onto the card.

Thank you...

Hi folks,

I thought I would share this card I made at the weekend, I was just really experimenting and surprised myself with this one.  I saw something similar on Pinterest and thought I would have a go.

So first I sprayed my card lightly with a mist of water, then I painted watercolour ink onto the butterfly stamp and stamped onto the card.  I then tilted the card and sprayed it again so the watercolour ink would run and mix together....I did get a bit heavy handed so had to soak up some of the ink.  Once the image was dry I added some splashes of colour and also some white paint splashes and finished with some dots ands sequins.  I then layered the sentiment on top.

Life is better with friends...

Morning folks, it's time for a new challenge on the Stamping Sensations challenge blog.

This month's theme is "feminine", you make anything as ling as there's stamping on your creation.

Our sponsor this month is ....

Stamp Addicts is a family run business based in Bedfordshire and have been in business since 1992. We have watched the popularity of rubber stamping and all papercrafts steadily increase over time and now manufacture our own branded rubber stamps which frequently feature on Hochanda TV as well as exhibiting at craft shows across the UK.

We also have these extra goodies up for grabs too..

For my card I stamped the leave image using blue and grey ink, I stamped some of them a couple of times so the image was a bit feinter in some parts. I then stamped and embossed with silver and die cut the image and layered that on top.  the sentiment has been white embossed.  I finished with a couple of sequins.

Birthday Wishes...

So I have something a wee bit different to share today.  I saw the background technique on Youtube....well something similar and thought I would try it out!

First I cut the square blank card and then loaded a paintbrush with water and randomly dropped the water droplets across the card.  I then gently dropped various colours of green and blue watercolour ink on to of the water droplets and left it to dry naturally....I left it overnight to find the watercolour had dried into the card....I thought it looked quite cool so made it into a card.

I embossed the leaves and die cut them and watercoloured with a darker shade of blue to make them pop out a bit.  I added some sticky fixers and layered them onto them card.  I added a piece of stripey paper for a funky look.  I added some splashes, dots and sequins and doodled the edges to finish.

Hope you likey.

Sending Happy Thoughts...

Morning folks,

Its time for the mid month post over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge Blog.

This months sponsor is Oakwood Archer who are giving away this lovely prize...

Doodles in Bloom which is stamps, dies and a stencil.

I have made my card using Altenew Beautiful Day...one of my many favourite stamp sets.  I stamped each of the layers with ink to give a bit of depth, then die cut the flowers and leaves and layered them all together.  I left one of the images uncoloured as I thought it looked a bit funky.  I added some splodges and sequins...oh and the sentiment.

Pop over to the Stamping Sensations Challenge Blog for more inspiration.

I'm off to work now...with yummy cheesecake since it's my birthday...

Life is better with friends...

Hi folks,

I know its similar to ones I have made already but I love leaves and blue and green....my next card won't be blue and green I promise!

So I stamped the leaves with ink on 3 fadeout ink, I do love this ink as it gives the effect of no lines colouring especially once it has been left to dry for a day. I then coloured with concord & 9th watercolour  ink, I also love this ink as I feel it spreads easier that some of the other watercolour mediums I have.  I added some light shading in between the leaves and added some splashes too.

hope you like it.

Happy Birthday...

Hi folks,

I thought I would share this card i made today.  I only ordered these dies yesterday and they arrived today so I had to have a wee play.  I watercoloured some card, let it dry and then die cut the leaves.  I sprayed some splodges onto the card and then layered the leaves in place.  I added a little button to the centre, this helped to hide the glue. I stamped the sentiment and fixed it to the card and then finished with some gems, dots and sequins.

hope you like.

Fabulous...

Hey all...I was super excited to get this card made after my new goodies arrived.  I spotted a card on Pinterest which was pretty similar and to where I got my inspiration for this one.

I used the stripe stencil for the background ...I masked it to a piece of watercolour card and lightly coloured it with blue and grey watercolours and once dry I added some splats.  I die cut the image, then stamped it up with versamark ink and white embossed.  I then coloured with the same watercolours and when dry layered it with sticky fixers. I stamped the sentiment and also white embossed the word "fabulous"...finished with some sequins.

So it's a beautiful day...

Hi folks...as you know I have been out of action for some time but just getting back into the swing of things and what better than with one of my favouritest stamp sets...Beautiful Day from Altenew.

I stamped the flowers and white embossed them....I also white embossed the leaves too. I then masked the flowers and stamped and white embossed the happy birthday text background.

Using my zig clean colour brush pens I added lots of colour to the flowers and leaves, I then loaded a brush with lots of water a d brushed over the coloured flowers....this gave a softer look and also gave some colour to the text.

Once dry I added some coloured splits, I then left it to dry before I added the black ink splodges.

I then stamped the sentiment and white embossed and I did cut the "you" 3 times and glued them together.

I added these to the card and also added some sequin, pearls and gems to finish...hope you likey!

Beautiful...

Howdy everybody, it has been a long time since I have made a card or posted on my blog as my mum had been seriously ill for the past 6 months or so, she sadly passed away at Christmas.  My mojo left and it's really hard to get back into the one thing I love so I thought I was start with something that was familiar to me...watercolouring.   I did make a card similar to this last year and I really liked it so here is my first card for 2018.

I used Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to colour and the stamp set is one from Altenew, which I bought a couple of months ago but haven't had the chance to use until now,  I white embossed...my favourite thing! I also white embossed the sentiment and added some splodges and sequins to finish.

Happy Birthday...

Howdy everybody...it's Fi here with today's post!  It's late, but as they say better late than never..

For this card I used the MFT Happy Birthday Background stamp and the MFT Beautiful Butterflies, I white embossed the background on watercolour card. I then stamped distress ink onto a piece of acetate, I loaded my brush with water and lifted the ink and washed it randomly over the embossed writing.  I didn't want to cover it all.  I inked up the butterfly with distress inks aswell and cut out.  I used sticky fixers to layer the butterfly and the sentiment. The sentiment is from Altenew Label Love.
I finished with some ink splodges and sequins.
