Breathe in deeply...

  Morning folks...
It's been a bit of a busy few weeks for me, we were up north on holiday, then it was Holly's hen weekend in Prague...yep I was the only old one and never again, it was just too much.  It's taken a full week for my bones to get back to a bit of normality.  Only 4 weeks until my next wee holiday.

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

The theme is "flowers".

I do love this stamp set so I thought I would use it for this weeks challenge.  I stamped the image with archival ink and then coloured with my zig watercolor pens.  I added a few splodges, dots and sequins.

Happy Haunting...

Morning folks...

It's been another busy time for me at work and also had a wee break up north...yet again no orcas, so maybe next time!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

The theme this fortnight is "Halloween or the colours of Halloween".
Now I do love Halloween but I really don't have many stamps and then I remembered I had Frankie so here he is.  Stamped him up and coloured him green of course and layered him onto some purple stencilled clouds....I need to practice clouds.  I added a few sequins to finish.

Hope you like it.

Time to unwind...

Morning folks...

I have been a bit AWOL with my cards lately as the crocheting has kind of taken over, after the holidays I am hoping to get back to an even split as I am missing making my cards, but I am also loving the crocheting...can't stop buying wool...oops!  So off on my holiday up north tomorrow and I am hoping to capture some great wildlife photos...top of the list is an orca but that is unlikely to happen but you never know!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

The theme this fortnight is "favourite colour".

Now I couldn't quite decide which colour was my favourite as I do like lots of colours however my wardrobe consists of black, black, more black etc but I do like blue and green together....maybe you can tell ha ha!

I actually bought this stamp set and embossing folder ages ago and just haven't had the chance to use it, so since I was talking wool I thought yep let's go with it.  First I embossed the background and added some blue and green ink.  I stamped up some of the wool images, tape measure and crochet hook using blue and green....I tried to colour one of the balls like variegated wool...lol.  I then fussy cut them and layered them onto the card.  I stamped up the sentiment and added some dots and sequins to finish.

Hope you like it.

Christmas in July...

Morning folks...I hope the weather is good wherever you are...it's a bit rubbish up here!

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

The theme this fortnight is "Christmas in July".

I bought this stamp set last year but never got around to use it so making the effort to get my unused stuff used!

First I stenciled those little trees with various shades of green and blue...now this stencil was not part of the same set as the stamp but thought it matched perfectly.

I stamped up 3 different little trees, coloured them with copics and then die cut and layered them onto the card.  I stamped and white embossed the sentiment and layered that onto the card too.

I added some doodling around the edges too.

Happy Easter...

It's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.

As Easter is just around the corner, then why not have an Easter theme!

I have had this stamp set for a while but only used it once, it's so cute...I do like when there's sentiments and images in the same set, makes it so much easier too.

So I inked up the bunnies using blue, green and yellow, then added the eyes...I fussy cut as I don't have the matching die (I don't think).  I then layered it onto the card.  I added a little die cut cloud and some sequins and dots.

My craft room is still in a guddle whilst we are making my new room but hopefully it won't be too long...

Let it Snow...again!

morning folks,

I thought I would share another card I made using this fab stamp set from Simon Says Stamp...I treated myself and ordered a few things but this set is just so amazing, I love it so much....be prepared there may be more cards to follow.

First of all I inked up the background with distress inks, I did some blending, I wanted to get a dark sky look.  I then spray some water to lift some of the colour. I then stamped the Snow stamp with versamark ink and embossed in silver, then I stamped the next layer in dark blue and then the final layer in black.  I wasnt sure if the black ink would stick to the embossed areas but it seems ok.  I added some splashes of white paint and some sequins to finish.

Birthday Wishes...

God morning folks,

It's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog.  This fortnights challenge is "favourite colour combo".
You can make anything you want using your favourite colour combo as long as there has been some stamping.

For my card I used one of the stamps from one of my favourite stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp which I stamped with black archival ink and coloured with a selection of blue and green watercolour ink.  I did some blending on some of the leaves to give them a bluey green look. Once dry I added some splashes, then a few sequins.  I stamped the sentiment and layered on top.
Hope you like it.

Thanks...

 Morning folks...

Well this card didn't go according to the plan I had in my head...seems to be a theme these days ha ha!

I first added some distress ink to the background to give it a kind of marbly effect, this is the only part that went according to plan.  I then stamped the leaves with distress inks, I left it to dry a bit and then I started watercolouring the leaves with a few different shades of distress inks.  The ink on the stalk started to bleed out and I had already spent ages colouring so I didn't want to waste it so I then ran my waterbrush over the image to make some of the green bleed out.  This did actually look better than before. Again I left it to dry and then added a bit more colour.  I then added some little splashes in green, white and gold and finishes with a few sequins.

I have to say I do love colouring with watercolours and I do love this stamp, it's one of my favourites.

Happy Birthday...

Good morning stampers!

It's birthday week over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog...the Sweet Stampin Challenge is 12 years old...how did that happen?

Well this wasn't really what I had in mind, I wanted to die cut different letters and have a layer on top but after playing about with my scan n cut....with the help of Cass, I gave up and went back to the dies!

So first I added some watercolours to the card and left it to dry, I then die cut the letters and stamped the outline over the top, didn't want the black line to be perfect (I deliberately did that lol) and added some sticky fixers, I then stamped some little flowers, stamped the birthday and finished with some dots and sequins.

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas...

Hi folks,

Well some news today, I have been asked to join the DT team over on the Stamping Sensations Blog which I am so chuffed about and here's my first card.  The theme is Christmas in November...how easy is that with Christmas fast approaching.

For my card I cut a piece of watercolour card and stamped the snowflake background with versamark ink and then white embossed it (love this technique).  I then randomly added some colour using watercolour ink and swooshed it around. Once it was dry I added a piece of washi tape in a contrasting colour, this is the first time I have used washi tape and I quite like it. I then stamped up some trees with coordinating ink and die cut them and layered them on top of the washi tape strip.  I stamped a coordinating sentiment from the same stamp set....and the usual sequins, gems and pearls to finish, hope you like it.

Be Kind...

Hi folks,

Well here I have made a couple of cards with some new products i ordered from Simon Says Stamp.  I inked up the image with fadeout ink (love it) and then used my zig clean color brush pens to watercolour the leaves.  Not sure if you can see but the stamped image changes to the colour that it has been coloured...I am so impressed.  I added some splashes of colour and some black splodges...haven't done that for a while and was missing that look.  I then added the sentiment and finished with gems, pearls and sequins.

Thought I would post an image of each of the cards on their own too.

Coffee and friends...

Hi folks,

Well I couldn't wait to make a little card with this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp...it's just so cute!  I used the background coffee stamp and stamped with desert sand onto kraft card.  I stamped the coffee cup and coloured in with caran d'ache pencils and then I cut out and layered onto the panel.  I stamped one of the sentiments and added some sequins.  I then die cut the envelope and pieced it together and stamped some of the elements to the front.
