Happy Birthday...

Howdy everybody...it's Fi here with today's post!  It's late, but as they say better late than never..

For this card I used the MFT Happy Birthday Background stamp and the MFT Beautiful Butterflies, I white embossed the background on watercolour card. I then stamped distress ink onto a piece of acetate, I loaded my brush with water and lifted the ink and washed it randomly over the embossed writing.  I didn't want to cover it all.  I inked up the butterfly with distress inks aswell and cut out.  I used sticky fixers to layer the butterfly and the sentiment. The sentiment is from Altenew Label Love.
I finished with some ink splodges and sequins.

Happy Birthday...

Hi everybody....well my few days off haven't gone quite according to plan...I did intend to be crafting for at least one full day that I have been off...never mind!

Somy friend asked me (well in advance this time) if I could make her a card for another friend of hers daughter...and here it is!

I thought I would try something a bit different for a wee change...so I randomly inked up the watercoloured card with a few shades using my zig pens,I left it to dry and then added the sparkly numbers.  I pierced a couple of holes at either side in order to thread the ribbon and fix it to the card.  I layered the panel onto pin cardstock and distressed the edges.  I added a sentiment from Altenew Label Love. I finished with doodled edges, sequins and splodges.

Hope you like!

Hello...

Howdy everybody...here I am with my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop!

For today's card I have used the stamps from the Altenew Hibicus Bouquet set which are really pretty. I white embossed the flowers and the leaves onto watercolour card, I then scribbled randomly some of my Spectrum Noir Aqua markers on top and loaded my brush with lots of water and just kept brushing until I got the shade and colouring that I wanted.  I did leave it to dry in between applications.
Next I white embossed the sentiments onto black cardstock and layered onto the card and die cut the hello and glued directly onto the card. I added a few sequins to finish.

Be Positive...

Good Morning everybody, today I am sharing my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop!

I just love this stamp set, it's so versatile and has beautiful sentiments included in the set.  It's from Altenew and is called Smile More.

I white embossed the flowers and leaves randomly on to watercoloured card, I did have to do a bit of masking so that I could layer the images.  I then coloured the panel with distress inks, I think distress inks are really easy to use with this technique...I love it!

I stamped the sentiment using black archival ink and then added a few sequins to finish.

Birthday Greetings

Good morning everybody, I'm here sharing my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop which I actually made for my dad's 80th....don't think he was that impressed as it didn't have a boat, a fish or some kind of sport on it...

For today's card I have used one of the new Altenew stamps called Birthday Greetings,...this is a fab set and so many sentiments are included.

I inked up the balloon with different distress inks and stamped onto watercolor card, I spritzed some water over the top and gently pulled some of the colour from the balloons to colour the background.

I then used my distressed patterns stamp to stamp some little black splodges, I die cut the numbers from a spare piece of watercolour card that I had also coloured and then stamped one of the sentiments included in the set to finish.

Hope you likey!

Spectrum Noir Tutorial

And now for something completely different.....

I thought I would show something different for this months tutorial, so here is my tutorial on how to paint or marble a ceramic mug using alcohol inks.
For this project you will need some Spectrum Noir Alcohol ink, rubbing alcohol and mod podge.  I have used IB1, IB2 and BT1 inks.

photo1

First I cleaned the mug, and stuck some tape around the lip to protect from the ink, and then painted it with the rubbing alcohol. I then loaded my paintbrush with some of the ink and painted around the bottom of the mug, I held the mug by the handle and moved it around to swirl the ink.

photo2

I then added another colour of ink and repeated the step above.

photo3

Again, repeating the steps above I added a third colour of ink.

photo4

I left the mug to the side to let the ink dry off and then I added a coat of mod podge to seal the ink.  I only had the glitter mod podge which actually has given the mug a nice sparkle.

photo5

Here's the finished mug from both sides.

My first DT card of 2017

Hi folks...my first DT card of 2017!!

Today is my last day before going back to work tomorrow s I made a point of spending most of the day crafting!

I bought this stamp just before Christmas as I thought it was quite versatile and I could do lots with it...I haven't used all of the stamps in the set only the main one, still practising with the others.

The stamp is from Concorde and 9th and is called Hello Lovely.  I stamped onto watercolour card and white embossed.  I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils, I started with the lighter shades and then gradually added until I got the shade I wanted...I wanted it to look quite soft.

I stamped some splodges and the sentiment which are from the same set and then added a few sequins to finish.

Pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog for more inspiration.
