Simple Things...

It's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog.

The theme is girly but no pink. I bought this new stamp set with the eucalyptus leaves....now I do love leaves!  I stamped the images then dies cut them which was quite tricky.  I then layered them onto the card.  I added a piece of twine around the bottle for a bit extra texture. I also added some splashes and a few dew drops.  The sentiment is from the same set which I love...love how it stamps really fine.

Birthday Wishes...

Hi folks,

Here's a wee extra card from me tonight.  I saw that there was a DT Call over on the Less is More blog and thought I would try my luck.  I do like the CAS look as it's nice and crisp and fresh.  If I am lucky enough to be picked it will give me a good excuse to get more practice with my CAS cards.

I have used one of the stamps from the Greetery Eucalyptus stamp set, the birthday sentiment is from concord & 9th, a piece of twine from my stash and some pearls and sequins from my stash.  I have to say I was tempted to add my doodled edges but left as is.

Hope you like it.

Thanks...

 Morning folks...

Well this card didn't go according to the plan I had in my head...seems to be a theme these days ha ha!

I first added some distress ink to the background to give it a kind of marbly effect, this is the only part that went according to plan.  I then stamped the leaves with distress inks, I left it to dry a bit and then I started watercolouring the leaves with a few different shades of distress inks.  The ink on the stalk started to bleed out and I had already spent ages colouring so I didn't want to waste it so I then ran my waterbrush over the image to make some of the green bleed out.  This did actually look better than before. Again I left it to dry and then added a bit more colour.  I then added some little splashes in green, white and gold and finishes with a few sequins.

I have to say I do love colouring with watercolours and I do love this stamp, it's one of my favourites.

Butterfly kisses...

Morning everyone, it's time for the mid month post over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge Blog.  The theme is anything goes, with the option of wings or tails but remember the main focus of the card should be stamped.

We have a fabulous sponsor this month...they are giving one lucky winner a stamp bundle.

For my card I have used the butterfly turnabout stamp from concord & 9th which I have actually had for a while but only used elements of the set in the past and I think this is the first time I have used it as a turnabout.  I stamped 3 rounds of the butterflies with the same coloured ink as the card and the 4th round I stamped with versamark and embosssed with gold glitter embossing powder.  I added some extra gold glitter to parts of the butterflies too.  I stamped the large butterfly (from the same set) in black ink onto the same coloured card and then die cut it.  I layered the butterfly onto the card along with some small gold glitter butterflies and added the sentiment which I white embossed.

Love...

It's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog.  The theme is love/valentine.  Now I'm normally not into love cards...when you reach a certain age, it's just another day lol!  Anyway I found a website with fab stamps so I had to buy a few and the background on this card was one of the new stamps... it's stamped in layers with different colours to build .up the pattern.  I added the die cut Love on top and then I thought I would add a little stamped you.

Wintertime...

Hi folks,

Not sure I'm entirely happy with this one.  I saw Sue had made a card similar to this and that's where I got my inspiration ....although mine is not as good, |I need to practice the blending as it's been a while.  I also used oxide inks to blend which I haven't used before so I need to practice.  The stamps are from Lavinia stamps.  I added glitter to the snow drifts and touched up the tree with a white pen to make it more snowy like.

Hope you like it.

Bee happy...

It's time for another challenge over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog.  The theme this month is anything goes with the option of wings or tails.

We have a fabulous sponsor this month...they are giving one lucky winner a stamp bundle.

For my card I stenciled the background and added some glitter.  I also added some splashes to the background...I like that look!  I stamped the image and embossed with clear embossing powder, I then coloured the bee and the centre of the flower with watercolours.  I cut the image out and layered it onto the card...I added a piece of black cord to make it look like a stalk and leaves...finished with some dots and sequins....oh and I doodled around the edges too.
