Poppy Gems...

Happy Sunday everybody!!

Well I am up to my eyes in work but I ordered some new crafty goodies and this stamp was one of my new purchases.  I am off down south in the morning to the Bulmers cider mill to meet some important people....and of course work!!  I'm there for three days so back late on Wednesday.

I couldn't wait to stamp and colour up this stamp as I have been eyeing it up for ages, it's from Penny Black and is called Poppy Gems.

I white embossed the image but left a section off the card...so that isn't the full image you can see.  I then coloured the image using my watercolour pens.  I gradually added colour building up the layers and I think it looks ok...I am still practising.  I also added some shading around the flowers as I think it helped them to pop out. I added a sentiment and some sequins, pearls and gems.

Iam actually loving white embossing at the moment...it is very therapeutic watercolouring over embossing, it helps not to go over the lines too....so there may be more to come lol!

Cute Card Thursday -embossing
Little Miss Muffet - anything goes
Bunny Zoe - summer florals
The Ribbon Girl - any image(not sure if I need to use ribbon, if so just delete this)

Crazy little bird...

Hi folks, hope everyone is well.

I haven't been on here as much as I would like to as work is still very, very busy but managed to squeeze this one in today!

First I cut a square of watercolour card, I stamped the sentiment using versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
Next I brushed the card with water and I added in a wash of Spectrum Noir Marine, it was quite light to start with. Once that was dry I stamped the bird and the splodges with versamark and embossed in white, then I added some Navy and Moss. I then added some black splodges too.

I used Lori's tutorial over on the spectrum Noir Blog as my inspiration for this one...same principle but I just used different stamps.

Remember I still have my candy on offer, so get your name in to win!

A little krafty...

Hi folks....here's a wee quickie from me this evening!

I have been busy playing with my new toy today, just trying to work out how everything works...

This has to be the most on the spur of the moment purchase I have ever made...just hope I have made the right decision!!

So onto the card, I actually made this the other night....and now I quite like it!!

This has to be one of the easiest cards to make, so first I die cut a piece of kraft card, I then stamped a few different stamps from the set called Water Blooms from Mama Elephant using a versamark stamp and then embossed with with embossing powder. Unfortunately this stamp set is out of stock but will be available soon. I then stamped some black spots. I aslo added black to the centres of a few of the flowers just for a little more detail.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I added a die- cut scalloped strip and added some little pearls to this.

A little honeybear...

Hi everybody...hope you are all well!

I thought I would share my card I made today...the stamp is called honeybear from Stamping Bella which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils...love them!

I am still practising with these pencils but I have to say they are fab.

I stamped the image using archival ink, then gently coloured the image, I then took my paintbrush loaded with water to blend the colours. I added some doodling to the edges and layered onto black card. The background paper is from The Sweet Shoppe which I also layered onto black card. I added a piece of lace for something extra.

Aquablend pencils used: nutmeg, charcoal brown, hickory, sky blue, oregano, straw, pesto green.

I'm so sorry...

Hi everyone, hope you are well!

I thought I would share my wee card I made using the fabulous new Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils, I have to say they are amazing!!  You can buy them from the Crafter's companion store...here!

The stamp I have used is called Gigi the Giraffe from Stamping Bella....isn't he just so cute?  I coloured the stamp using the pencils...they are soo easy to use.  Once I stamped the image I took the pencil to the card and just gradually added a bit of colour and then blended it with a wet brush...gradually built up the layers until I was happy with the colour.

Here's a close up of the coloured image....I don't normally add an extra close up but I am so impressed with these pencils that I needed to share the close up...I hope you likey!

Pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog for more inspiration!

Summer Girl...

Howdy folks...hope you are all well on this sunny day!!

Well this post was half scheduled and half not...I was on a high after my friend and I went to see The Eagles in concert....it was amazing and although they have been on the go forever...they can sing live even in their 60's!!  The only thing was strictly no photography etc...which was a wee shame cos I would have loved to have been able to get a sneaky photo but there was no chance as Security were all over it!!

So, anyway...I finished my post and here we have my card for Papertake Weekly Challenge...yay that's right I was asked if I would like to have a wee guest spot...of course I said yes.

The theme is "anything goes" with the option of something summery.

For my card I have used papers from Echo Park - Sunny Side, I stitched the layers onto bazzill card, the image is Summer Girl from Mo Manning which I coloured with my new spectrum noirs (it's all Lis's fault, she made me buy them)which I am getting used to but I am liking them and I then added some stickles to the ice lolly and the shades. I did some shading with polychromos. The sun has been made with a daisy die and I just snipped the ends off and attached a die cut button, I added pearls to the corners and added a big daisy and ribbon and finished with the stamped sentiment from CC Designs which I thought was perfect....hope you likey!!

Hey beautiful people on this very miserable day!!  At least I am off work for 2 days but back on Monday, so before I get on with the less important stuff like housework, I thought I would have a little play and here is what I've created.

The stamp is from LOTV which I have coloured with copics (new ones on order), the papers are from MME - lost and Found 3 - Oliver collection...yummy!!  The flowers have been cut using my die-namics rolled royal rose die but I did something a bit different...I layered 2 different coloured die cuts and rolled them together...it gives a two tone look and it does actually look quite good IRL!!  i added lots of glitter and pearls.
