It's a celebration.....

Howdy folks....my mission yesterday was to make this card to mark the birthday of our new office at work....just aswell I was off as it took me nearly all day!! There's a few teams of us and one of the fun activities planned for Wednesday is best team birthday card....well hopefully we win!!

I went with the Jubilee theme as this is a big thing at work so I combined the two...I have used papers and embellishments from Portobello Road. I distressed each of the layers, I embossed and distressed the Union Jack in order to see the outline of the flag. All the die cuts have been cut with My Favourite Things dies....all for fun and I hey team I hope it passes the test!!

Fashion statement!!

Well another lovely sunny day and...not my usual and I can tell you ...never again!! I wanted to try the Less is More challenge and this week it's acetate...piece of cake I thought!! That stuff just has a mind of its own...aaarrgggg!! It won't cut and everything sticks to it including the rubber stamps I used on this one...I had to peel the stamps from the acetate...I thought what's going on here...I thought it was ink I used not glue!! I was not going to let this one beat me so 6 sheets of acetate later...here we are. I embossed a white panel and layered it onto the black and added pink seam binding and a little message. I layered the acetate on to sticky fixers so that it gives a 3d effect and actually IRL this does look quite good as you can see the shadows behind the figures...not sure if you can see it in the photo. The stamps I just love...these were a win I got in the early days, they are called My Acrylix - Every Day Life...great for quick cards although this one wasn't quick hence the reason I have not said a wee quickie before lunch!!

Howdy...

Howdy folks...sorry if I haven't left any comments in the past 24 hours or so...my charming daughter threw a cup of coffe all over the keyboard...by accident of course, just back from the shops and we are cooking with gas!! Another thing...it's been snowing here today...again but hopefully it won't come to much. I rattled up this little quickie card last night. The stamp is from Image Tree - Barnyard buddies which I coloured with promarkers. I also chalked the background to make it look like clouds but I don't think I done it heavy enough as you can bearly see them, I also added a fewe birds. The papers are from Making Memories which I have had in my stash for ages..I think they are from the kids collection - Kate. I have entered the following challenges.

Merry Christmas...

Well after my post yesterday saying that it was raining...it actually turned out to be really hot and looks like it's going to be nice and sunny today. For my card today I have used my new Bo Bunny winter Joy papers...these are absolutely gorgeous in real life but haven't been able to get the matching ribbons yet...the image is from Sassy Cheryl's and I coloured the snowman with copics and added some glitter. I distressed the edges of the layers to give it a shabby look...well my interpretation of a shabby look. I didn't think I needed to add any embellishments as I think it looks ok as there is a few different papers. I have entered the following challenges.

Sir Stampalot - distressed

Sweet flower girl...

Well what a glorious day it's been today so I have been in and out bewtween some tidying up in the garden, washing and doing bits to this card. This is one of my favourite stamps..The flower Girl from Sugar Nellie which you buy from Funky Kits...I love her!! She has also been coloured with copics. The papers are also one of my favourites just now...Brook collection from Crate Papers. I distressed the edges of the papers and added a tiny edge of stickles, I also embossed and sanded the panel underneath the image. I didn't have ribbon that matched so I used some Stampin' Up white ribbon and coloured it green, I also added a bow the same colour and attached a button. I stamped the message and punched it out and layered that on to the scallop circle and again I added a button to the centre. I added dots at opposite corners with a brown pearl pen...just new and quite like it...you can but them at Quixotic Paperie....and finally my fabby flowers...well I think they are fabby...these have ben cut with my favourite gadget...the sizzix 3d flower die. I hope you like this one and I have entered it in the challenges below:

Hello You

Phew...eventually finished....I have been working on this most of the day and now that it's later in the day not sure if the colour is ok on the camera...might need to do some more pictures but I have taken a few of this one. Well I had started making this card this morning but I couldn't quite decide which image to use as I wanted to enter it in a few challenges...I hope I have met the requirements on each of them....well anyway as I was saying...couldn't decide what image, then the postie came and I found a little package for me...I thought I haven't ordered anything else...yet so what could it be....my good friend Lyndsey sent me this Mo Manning stamp for my birthday...thanks so much Linds..mwah...isn't she kind?? Check her new vamped blog out here. I have used Crate Papers - Paper doll collection..which I love and you can get them at Quixotic Paperie, I punched the oval for the message to layer onto...oh and my fav...I punched/cut the flowers from my new sizzix 3 flowers die which I bought from Sir Stampalot...all you do is roll them to the required size and fix them with glue...oh I so love them.....I coloured the image with my copics and layered it onto a scalloped circle which I made with the Stampin Up slit punch as I don't have a big scallop circle punch...but that's fine cos I have got the knack of using the slit punch to do scallops...

Now onto the inside....I also used the same Crate Paper and punched out 4 giant scallops and layered them...I added another message so that the card will prop up. I followed the sketch over at Totally Gorjuss but I didn't know how to adapt it for the inside so the sketch is for the front...did my own thing inside...hope that's ok.

Thought I would add another view..please do no look at the mess in the background....I cannot believe how much of a mess this card has caused!!

A Special Friend

Well I'm sorry to bore you all but this is one of my new stamps and I just love it so I had to make another card using this sweet pea...and it's nearly the same as one I posted yesterday but my friend loved it and wanted me to make her one so here it is. I coloured the sweet pea with copics and layered her onto Crate Paper, I cut the butterfly out and stuck on the image to give a 3D effect, I cut out the flowers with the sizzix and I tried to shape them to make them more 3D(I saw this on youtube) and I added a message, some gems and glitter...oh and the centre of the big flower was just a piece of paper which I coloured green, snipped it and rolled it up. I have entered this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says stamp - sketch

Sir Stampalot Challenge - butterflies and blossoms

Quixotic challenge - make your own flowers(took me 2 hours)

Pixie dust Studio - Cut it out(butterfly)

Cute Card Thursday - someone special

Fairy

Need to do some housework today but before I get started I thought I would make a quick card..well it's actually taken me ages!! the backing papers are various scraps I had but the dark card is Diamond dust card which was one of the very first papers/card I ever bought but I haven't used it...you can't really see the efffect but is a bluey purple and it looks like it has diamonds though it. The image I downloaded from The Greeting Farm and coloured with my copics...I tried to give her dress a kind of tyed dye look. I added some gems and some stars to make it a bit more fantasy like.
