The Sugar Bowl Challenge 132

Well today sees the last challenge of the year over on the Sugar Bowl.

I can't believe how fast this year has flown in from being snowed under at work then made redundant, a wee bit time off then a wee job to tide me over and now I have bagged myself a new role at Heineken startting on 5th January....although it's still a fixed Term job, it's a longer one and is a fab opportunity....and who knows if I do a good job they might ask me to stay forever...woo hoo!

So anyway here's my card for today's challenge over on The Sugar Bowl. I thought the image and sentiment work well together for this time of the year.

The papers were in my stash, so no idea what they are, the image is called "Fizz" from Leanne Ellis at Funky Kits which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Marker pens.

Spectrum Noir Markers used - FS2, FS6, FS8, IG2, OR3, IB1, IB2, GB3, GB4, CR6, CR7, GT2, GT3, EB8, GB8, GB10

Spectrum Noir Tutorial - mixing Aqua markers and sparkle pens

Edited: so super organised I haven't posted this yet!!

Now I am super organised with this card as it's Holly's birthday soon and she's not really a girly girl but absolutley loves Olaf but I couldn't put a snowman on her birthday card so I thought I would try and go with the Frozen colours....so my tutorial for Spectrum Noir too...

First of all I cut a piece of watercolour card to the required size, I have gone for 6 x 6 inch and I also cut out the numbers to use on my card again in waterfcolour card.

Next I coloured Kingfisher, Orchid, Lime and Topaz Spectrum Noir Aqua markers onto a piece of acetate, I heavily loaded my brush with water ro really dilute the colour and then just randomly added a dash of each colour onto the card.

Once the first layer of colour is dry I then repeated the step above just to make the colour a bit more vibrant.

Next I gave the card a wash of water to blend the Aqua colours together, I let it dry and then added some splashes.

Next I moved onto the numbers, using Amethyst and Aquamarine Sparkle pens, I coloured the acetate again and the using a brush loaded with some water lifted the colour from the acetate and coloured the numbers.

Again, leaving to dry before added more of the same coloured Sparkle Pens and then I gave a final coat of the Crystal Clear sparkle Pen.

Here is my finished card, it's hardto see the sparkle from the pens but  it's there...added a message and a few sequins, pearls and gems.

Pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog for lots more inspiration.

Tiddly Inks Fab Friday -

Hey folks!

Well been having major wifi issues and this card should have posted today but didn't and now I have just noticed!!

So here is my little card for today's Fab Friday over on the Tiddly Inks Blog.

So I have used this little cutie called Fluttering By to say Hi and coloured her with Spectrum Noir markers.  Once I finished colouring I did some fussy cutting.  The papers are from LOTV which I layered onto bazzill card, did my usual doodling around the edges. I added a piece of lace to one of the layers. The leaves have been cut using my die-namics layered leaves die and added some little paper flowers.  I then added those teeny die cut butterflies and glittered then up.

Spectrum Noir September Tutorial -18th

Hi everybody, today I am sharing my tutorial on how to colour with blendable pencils on kraft and using blending solution.

I really need to practise a bit more but there was a few people on the Facebook group looking for some tips, so ladies hopefully this will help you.

First of all I cut a piece of kraft card to size and stamped the image using memento ink.

Next I added skin tone to the arms, legs, face and neck.

Next I added colour to the dress, making it a bit darker at the edges.

I then used blending solution with a paper stump to the coloured areas, I feel using the blending solution gives the image a softer touch and takes away the pencil lines.  The image will look darker to start with on the areas you have used the solution.

Once the dress dried I then added colour to the book and then started to colour the socks

I then went over the coloured area again with pencil and then started colouring the hair.

I then used the blending solution all over....

I then went over all coloured areas again just to highlight the image.

I then trimmed the image to size and here's my final card, I added some little pearls and gems and some twine.

blendable pencil colors used: 001, 002, 009, 024, 042, 065, 066, 088, 112, 117, 119, 120

Well here I am with my first card for Tiddly Inks, yes I am super excited to be on the team...and I so love my watermark...lol!

So I have used this little cutie called Faythe Flies and coloured her with Spectrum Noir markers.  Once I finished colouring I did some fussy cutting.  The papers are from <> which I layered onto bazzill card, did my usual doodling and then distressed  the edges. The leaves have been cut using my die-namics layered leaves die and the flowers are a mix of die cut and paper flowers.  I then added those teeny die cut butterflies and glittered then up.

Spectrum Noir September Challenge

Hi everyone.

There's a new challenge over on the Spectrum Noir Facebook Page, this months challenge is "embossing"...

You can also pop over to the Spectrum Noir blog to find out loads of tips and techniques on using all your Spectrum Noir products.

I have used MFT Scribbled roses stamp set, MFT Scribbled roses dies and MFT scribbled roses overlays.

I first cut a square of watercolour card to size and gave it a quick wash of water.  I then randomly stamped the roses using versamark ink and then embossed using white embossing powder. I then coloured the roses using Spectrum Aqua markers, I made the colour quite bold to start with and then when it was almost dry I loaded a large brush with water and went over the stamped image...this made it a bit softer and made the colours blend into each other.  I thought it looked a bit plain so I decided to stitch around the edge of the card in orange. I die cut the roses and leaves and then using my ebrush sprayed them with Spectrum Noir markers.  I layered the white overlay on top and then positioned onto the card.  I added some pearls and gems to finish.

Hope you likey!

Birthday wishes...

Good morning folks, and another card from me...

This time I have used my ebrush to create the background and to shade the flowers and leaves.  I first die cut the flowers and then sprayed them using Spectrum Noir Markers, I did the same with the leaves.  I then die cut the overlays and glued them on top.  I masked off a section of the card and sprayed the top section with a matching colour.  I layered the flowers on to the card.  I doodled the edges as normal.  I thought it looked a bit bare so did some arty type splashes with Spectrum Aqua pens and then added some sequins and gems.
Hope you likey!

Tiddly Inks DT Call - Hugs and Fishes

Howdy folks, I hope you are well today.

So I have been swithering about this for a few days and decided to go for it, I am entering the
DT Call over at Tiddly Inks.

So I have seen lots of cool shaker cards lately and when I saw this cute little image I thought it would be perfect for making into a shaker card. I have used "Wryn Just Keep Swimming" and coloured her with Spectrum Noir markers and then cut her out. I cut a square and die cut a circle for my shaker, I then die cut a scallop circle to frame the circle as it was a bit plain.  I doodled around the edges of the square and then fixed a piece of acetate to the back.

for the inside, I used my Spectrum Aqua pens to make a wash of colour and then added some splashes of water to make it a bit sea like. I added some glitter, seed beads, sequins and some extra fish which I printed off.

I then gave Wryn the 3D look and fixed her to the front of the shaker to make it look like she is swimming through that little hole!

I added some extra splashes of colour, sequins, pearls and gems to the front.

I am sharing my card for the LOTV Design Collective.

A wee sneaky peek at one of the new sets of Christmas stamps that will be available...you know I can't resist a snowman!!

I made it quite plain and simple, I coloured the stamped images with Spectrum Noir markers, I cut out each of the images and layered them onto a die cut scallop circle. I cut a square panel and embossed with snowflakes, I also punched some extra snowflakes and 3D them onto the card and glittered them up...oh yes doodled the edge too!

Little Umbrella

Hi everybody, something a bit different to share with you, I have decided to follow Laine's tutorial over on the Spectrum Noir blog on how to colour sun kissed skin.

Laine's colouring and instructions are fab so you can't go wrong.

For this card I have used Little Umbrella from Mo Manning which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Marker pens.

I followed Laine's tutorial, which you can find here on the Spectrum Noir blog.

first I coloured all the skin with FS2, then added FS4,TN2, TN4 and FS6, making it darker where there is shade and to the parts of the skin that would get a bit sun kissed.

Gradually build up the layers of colour until your image is sun kissed, pop over to the Spectrum Noir blog to check out Laine's tutorial as she has step by step instructions.

There's lots of other fab tutorials so why don't you check them out too on the Spectrum Noir blog.

Thanks a bunch

Howdy folks, well I have been a bad blogger lately, working extra hours at work and getting everything ready to handover and then looking for a new job....anyway I now have more time on my hands so getting all caught up.
So today's card I am quite pleased with...I wanted to make something quite quick using my new ebrush and here it is.  so I first of all cut a piece of white card to size, then I sprayed 3 colours together, blending as much as I could.  I die cut the scribbled roses and stitched them in place, I also added some stitching around the edges too.  I then stamped the sentiment and using sticky fixers, layered it to the middle of the card.  to finish I added some pearls and gems.
pens used: BP6, OR3 and GT4.
