A little krafty...

Hi folks....here's a wee quickie from me this evening!

I have been busy playing with my new toy today, just trying to work out how everything works...

This has to be the most on the spur of the moment purchase I have ever made...just hope I have made the right decision!!

So onto the card, I actually made this the other night....and now I quite like it!!

This has to be one of the easiest cards to make, so first I die cut a piece of kraft card, I then stamped a few different stamps from the set called Water Blooms from Mama Elephant using a versamark stamp and then embossed with with embossing powder. Unfortunately this stamp set is out of stock but will be available soon. I then stamped some black spots. I aslo added black to the centres of a few of the flowers just for a little more detail.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I added a die- cut scalloped strip and added some little pearls to this.

Spectrum Noir tutorial - wax resist using aquatints

Hi folks...here I am with my tutorial for Spectrum Noir, today I thought I would share how to make a background using aquatints with the wax resist technique...

First I cut a piece of wax paper and ran it through an embossing folder.

Next I sandwiched the wax paper between 2 pieces of watercolor card and gave it an iron...not too much but just enough to lift the embossed was onto the card.

Next I added a layer of undiluted green aquatint.

I then added some added in some blue aquatint.

Next I loaded my paintbrush with water and brushed all over the card to blend the colors together.

Next using a soft sponge, I rubbed the card to lift the excess ink off.

I die cut my frame and attached a piece of acetate and then I applied 3D foam all the way around the edges.

I added some pearls and sequins to the inside and attached the watercolored card to the back.

The finished card...
