Spring Daisy

Hi folks, happy Friday, I'm sharing my  DT card I have made for My Mum's Craft Shop.

I have been doing a bit of watercolouring again with my new pens but may have got a little carried away but I really wanted to show you something different and also just to see how bright I could make the image.

The flowers in this set are from  the Altenew Spring Daisy set, it was available whn I made the card but due to popular demand is out of stock again but on order and will be back shortly. The sentiment is also from the Altenew Label Love set which unfortunately is also out of stock and on order.

I stamped this image with black archival ink and then watercoloured using my new zig pens, I started with the light colours and grdaully added more darker shading until it was bright! Oh and I almost forgot...the splodges too, I made them from a teeny stamp in the MFT distressed patterns set.

Spectrum Noir Tutorial

Just noticed this hasn't posted...grrrrr!!

I thought I would share with you how to make a card using Spectrum Noir Aquatints and some shaving foam!

First up, I sprayed some shaving foam onto my craft sheet and smoothed it out to make the surface even.

Next I added 2 drops of purple Spectrum Noir Aquatint.

Next, using my pokey tool, I dragged it through each of the drops of Aquatint to make heart shapes in the shaving foam....it doesn't have to be perfect as I think that adds to the look.

Next I gently pressed a piece of white card onto the shaving foam.

Then once I felt that the card had an even coverage of shaving foam, I gently peeled the card away from the foam.

I left it for a couple of minutes and then I gently rubbed off the shaving foam using kitchen roll....and the print below was left on the card...isn't it quite cool?

I layered the card onto coloured cardstock and added a few black splodges of ink.

Here's the finished card...this was really easy to do and has an amazing result!

A bit of watercolouring...

Good morning folks!

The sun is out and I am off work so before I get on with the housework I thought I would share my latest creation.

I actually spotted these flowers on youtube and they were also watercoloured, I just loved it when I saw it so I already had the stamps so I followed the tutorial by Kristina over there for colouring and making this card.

This didn't actually take me that long but I first of all stamped and white embossed the flowers and the stems, I also had to mask off the flowers so I could overlap them....oh and it was really difficult to see the white embossing so one of my stems is a bit off centre.....I guess that's what makes it handmade...lol!

Next I started colouring the flowers using my zig pens, now I started with light colours and then gradually added darker colours to give the flowers a bit of depth...you don't have to be great at colouring which is what I love about watercolouring...it's so forgiving if you make a mistook!

Once I was happy with the colours I then added some shading around the flowers and then I added some slpodges...these are so cool and funky and I also added my checked effect backing...I think this looks quite funky against the vibrant colours.

Poppy Gems...

Happy Sunday everybody!!

Well I am up to my eyes in work but I ordered some new crafty goodies and this stamp was one of my new purchases.  I am off down south in the morning to the Bulmers cider mill to meet some important people....and of course work!!  I'm there for three days so back late on Wednesday.

I couldn't wait to stamp and colour up this stamp as I have been eyeing it up for ages, it's from Penny Black and is called Poppy Gems.

I white embossed the image but left a section off the card...so that isn't the full image you can see.  I then coloured the image using my watercolour pens.  I gradually added colour building up the layers and I think it looks ok...I am still practising.  I also added some shading around the flowers as I think it helped them to pop out. I added a sentiment and some sequins, pearls and gems.

Iam actually loving white embossing at the moment...it is very therapeutic watercolouring over embossing, it helps not to go over the lines too....so there may be more to come lol!

The perfect pear...

Hi everybody...

Did you know my boy got engaged, so I decided to make him a card but something a bit different to the norm!

For this card I used my spectrum Noir Aqua blend pencils....I only actually needed two colours to do this. I then added some splodges and doodles.

Hope you like!

A Little Thank You

Hi folks, happy Friday!

I'm here today with my card for My Mum's Craft Shop!

I have been doing a bit of watercolouring and this set of stamps from MFT called Build-able Bouquet is the perfect set to start with as the images aren't too big.

For this card I stamped the images and white embossed, this helps the colour not to run over the lines, it kind of holds it in place....it's a fab technique!  I then used watercolour pens to colour the images.  I added some little sequins and some white splodges to finish!

Spectrum Noir July Challenge - Summer

Hi everybody...have you seen the challenge over on the Spectrum Noir Facebook page??

This month's theme is "Summer" now easy is that??  All you have to do is use some of the Spectrum Noir products.

The stamps I have used for this card are from Hero Arts...they are quite cool!!

I coloured the Spectrum Aqua markers directly onto the stamp this time, just really to see the difference, so I think it has made the colours a bit more bolder than if I lifted the colour from a stamping mat.

I stamped the cones first using topaz then I left it to dry a bit and stamped the texture over the cone using marigold.  I then stamped the ice cream using lime, peach and blossom and then stamped the swirls in olive, blossom and scarlet.  Next I added some sprinkles stamped in chocolate....oh almost forgot the cherry on top....that was stamped using olive and blossom.

Next I also stamped the background...it's supposed to resemble different coloured sprinkles, then I layered the ice creams onto the card.

You can also pop over to the Spectrum Noir blog to find out loads of tips and techniques on using all your Spectrum Noir products.

Hello...

Morning everybody, it's time for my DT card for MMCS...

When I spotted this stamp set on the MMCS website, I really did love it and there is soooo much you can do with it...it is so pretty!

The stamp set is from My Favourite Things and is called "Spring Wreath".  I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua pens to colour the wreath and the flowers, I used moss, wildflower and red violet.  I also stamped up some splodges first using the same green colour, I also added a few extra leaves.  I cut out the flowers and the wreath and layered them up finishing with teeny pearls to the centres.  I also added some white slodges but it's hard to see them.
