Oooh....a little crazybird...

Today I am sharing how to colour a background and image using Spectrum Noir Aqua Pens with my new fabby stamps!

First I stamped my image onto Watercolour card using Archival Ink and then I left it aside for a couple of minutes just to dry off a bit.

I always like to colour the pens onto acetate and then lift the colour with a waterbrush so next I coloured some Bud Green onto acetate and lifted a small amount and coloured around the edge of the image.

I then repeated that step using Kingfisher to the top side of the image.

I then loaded the brush with water and blended the colour out so that both colours were meeting but not bleeding too much together.

I then coloured the tail using Orange and the beak using Fawn....I actually just used the fine tip of the Orange pen on the tail as I wanted it to be a bit bolder.

I then added more colour using the brush and still blending until I reach the required depth of colour.

For the background I used Magenta, Kingfisher and Fawn and again coloured onto acetate but this time I spritzed each block of colour and I stamped a background stamp into the ink and then onto the card....it leaves quite a splodge...I repeated this for all three colours.

I then added some background lines using the same technique.

Finally I added some tiny dots using a small background stamp....I think this just gives the background that little bit extra texture.

I cut out the bird and layered it onto the card, added some sequins and a birthday message.

Pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog for more inspiation from the team.
