Let it Snow....

Good morning bloggers...well it's certainly not snowing here as yet although there is snow further north in Scotland but it is absolutely chucking it down. Last night I took Holly and her friend to the winter wonderland which opened and again it was pouring!! They loved it, there was ice skating, lots of snow and ice type rides and oh hot chocolate and of course the beautiful Christmas lights....twas lovely!! We will be going nearer Christmas again, probably when it is actually snowing but we will have a look around the German Market next time.

So before I get on with some chores i thought I would share my card with you..now I did colour this Santa in last week but didn't really have time to make him into a card so here we are!!

I have used scraps of paper I had in my stash from October Afternoon - Very Merry, the Santa is from Sugar Nellie and I coloured him with copics, I added some sparkle to his furry bits and the added a message and a glitzed up snowflake...hope you like!!

Sugar Bowl Challenge #71

Good morning Sugar fans and another challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. This fortnight's challenge is Erika's sketch below....isn't it awesome?? Of course as always there is the optional theme of "patchwork"....the sketch is perfect to make the theme fit so why not give it a go...

....as normal the prize for one lucky winner chosen at random is 4 Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits and as always if there's over 100 entries.....6 Sugar Nellie stamps...woo hoo!

For my card I have used papers from Fancy Pants - Summers End which I layered onto kraft card and then did my patchwork stitching. The stamp is Foxy - Gorjuss Girl which I coloured with copics. I then cut out the image and layered it onto a kraft circle which I have also stitched, I had to do some distressing to the edges as it didn't look quite even...distressing hides a multitude of sins. I then added some white pencil shading around the image. I cut out the felt flowers and leaves with a MFT die-namics and finished with a little message.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #70

Good morning sugar addicts...did I tell you I am holiday this week?? This time next week I will be on my way to the SECC to meet up with some sugar fans and of course to buy some new stash!!

Today's challenge over at The Sugar Bowl is Maria Therese's sketch below...

...as always the optional theme is "clean and simple".

Also up for grabs is 4 Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits....

...but if there is more than 100 entries then 6 stamps is on offer.

For my card it is very CAS which is a bit out of my comfort zone however it means the main focus is on the image and what a cutie this stamp is. It's Jelly Pip which you can buy here. I coloured her with copics, added a flourish and a couple of rolled flowers....that easy so if I can do it so can you.

Anything but a card....

Hi all...second scheduled post of the day....thought I would wait til lunch time so I can do the linky thing on my lunch break!! When I saw Faye's lovely work of art I thought..I am going to make one of those...I need one for my desk anyway!! So here we are...a little bit out of my comfort zone and it didn't quite go according to plan!! So I used an old tub, then I sanded it and rubbed it and primed it and rubbed it and painted it but then I thought I could add some tissue papers around the lip on the top but that's where it all went wrong!! Looking at it now though, I did manage to fix it up a bit and it's not as bad a sit was!! I covered the tub in MME - So Sophie papers, there is also a band all the way around with matching buttons on, maybe should have taken a photo from the side, oh well, I cut the felt flowers out using my MFT rolled daisy die...I think this die works perfectly on felt, I am not so keen on it with papers. I then added a bow and a couple of punched butterflies.....hope it's not too naff!!

Paper Sundaes DT card

Hi my Sundae bloggers and my scheduled post. Hopefully my head is not too bad after my school reunion party last night but I will tell you about that later.

The challenge this week over at Paper Sundaes is to make an easel card or a twisted easel card. I just stuck to the non twisted variety as twisted looks a bit complicated!!

Our sponsor this week is...

who are offering one lucky winner a $15 certificate to spend in their store.

Now you will see the top photo is the front of the card and the photo below is the open version. I have used First Edition - Up, Up & Away papers which you can buy here from Simon Says Stamp...they are so pretty. The image is Bumble Bee from sugar Nellie which has been coloured with Distress Ink's and again Simon Says Stamp carries a whole collection of DI's which can buy here. I punched the flowers with my MFT die-namics die and Simon stocks a huge amount of die-namics. I finished with a message and a ribbon on the inside....hope you like.

I love a cuppa...

Morning everybody and another gorgeous day!! I thought I would get this card posted asap and then I can get on with some housework. I think this image sums me up...as I have umpteen cuppas in the morning!! I know...too many isn't good for you...anyway...I have been colouring this image over the past few nights and practicing colouring with DI's...this is my first attempt. I have to say..it's very therapeutic but does take much longer. The lovely Elaine sent me some card to use which is 100% better than the card I was using so may need to treat myself!! The papers are from MME - So Sophie which I cut into squares and then added some stitching to make a patchwork effect. I didn't want to add anymore layers as I thought it was busy enough with papers. I couldn't help myself...I had to stick on some of those flowers. I thought I would enter the Sugar Nellie Challenge on Facebook with this one as it's squares. I was also swithering about entering the Simply Sassy Banner competition too but I'm not sure if the colours are cold enough to match Elaine's....I'm going to give it a bash anyway!!

Don't forget there's still time to enter the DT CAlls at Sweet Stampin Challenge blog and Paper Sundaes Challenge blog.

It's almost Easter...

Morning Sweet Stampers and my scheduled post. Well I don't normally make Easter cards so these have not come easy to me so why on earth did I pick Easter as the them this week at Sweet Stampin...obviously it seemed like a good idea at the time. I'm not sure if I like this or not...not my usual I'm afraid!! Pop over and see what the other sweeties have made to inspire you with Easter scrumminess!!

This week we are sponsored by Di's digi Downloads who are giving one lucky winner 5 digis.

We also have our monthly sponsor Bugaboo who are giving one lucky winner 7 digis.

For my card I have used Nitwits papers and the image is from Di's Digi Download. I coloured the image with promarkers and then cut it out, I then used an embossing tool on the back of the agg to mould it into a dome and layered it onto the card...it reall pops out as is much better IRL. I made the sun by cutting out a sizzix flower, cutting the ends of the petals.

Merry Christmas...

I have been quiet the past couple of days as I haven't been feeling well...still don't feel 100% but being a mother you just have to get on with it!! I have made this card using Bo Bunny Winter Joy papers, the snowflakes were punched with the Martha Stewart punches, the tags are from Stampin' Up tiny tags which I stamped and punched, the message was stamped but I masked off the full message as it was too big to fit and the image is from All That scraps and coloured with copics. To finish off I added glitter to the snowflakes and the trims on Darby's boots, jacket and hat.

It's a shower...

Hi folks...I thought this card fits perfect to the weather we are having just now...well the weather where I am. Every time I hang my washing out it starts to rain....what a nightmare with towels!! So onto the card... these little meeses have been hiding in my stash for a while so I thought it was time for them to come out and show their e little faces. Now you will never believe this but I didn't use copics to colour this..I used my waterur pencils for a change but I did make a bit of a mistake...I used a memento ink pad...doesn't work with waterpencils however I still think I got away with parts of the ink bleeding as I needed very little colourecially on the meeses so between the ink and the pencils I think they look ok. I stamp this stamp twice so I could cut out the flower head and 3d them and then touched up with lots of glitter. I have entered this in the following challenges:

House Mouse - make a splash

Pollycraft - nature

Crafty Cardmakers - glitter and sparkle

Craftalicious - purple and green

make a wish

I am having withdrawal symptoms so I needed to make this card for the challenges below. I saw the tutorial on youtube of how you make it...not sure what it's called. I had the papers and ribbon in my stash and the lovely Mandy sent me some Magnolia images.....this is the front.

This is the inside...well the first part....when the card is folded slits are made, then you feed through the white card and stamp your message on the white area....then...

Another inside is revealed and you can stamp further messages...I was well impressed when I saw this on youtube and I had to try it asap....it's like magic!!
