Spectrum Noir tutorial - Aquatints

Hi everybody...hope you are all well!

Today I am going to show you how to make a coloured background using Spectrum Noir Aquatints...this is something totally different for me but i thought I would give it a go.

First of all, I wanted to give the background a bit of texture so I painted some masking fluid on a stencil and I stamped this onto the card and left it for a few minuted to dry.

So I wasn't sure if I should cover the card in water first to dilute the color a bit but as I wanted it to look really bright I decided to paint the Aquatint directly onto the card, I brushed the pink Aquatint over the card, notice how it hasn't stuck to the masking fluid.

I repeated the above step using orange and overlapped a bit with the pink.

Then I added the yellow and again made it overlap with the orange.

Next I brushed out the colour so the lines weren't so defined, this doesn't need to be perfect.

I repeated the above step adding a bit more colour just to make it a bit more vibrant.

Next I stamped up some stamps and randomly stamped all over.  The stamps are from Crafters Companion and are called Journal Jottings.

I rubbed off the masking fluid with my finger, layered the panel onto black cardstock and added some sequins and glitter to finish off....hope you likey!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 134

Good morning folks, hope you are all well!!

Well I actually have had this little tag made since the weekend, organised for a change!  I was stumped on which of the many Sugar Nellie images to use for my Sugar Bowl Challenge card and then I remembermed I had new dies that I thought would be perfect for this little gorjuss stamps.

So the stamp is called New Heights from the Gorjuss range at Funky Kits...which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.

I hope you like it and pop over to the Sugar Bowl and check out the rest of the teams creations.

Wedding Wishes...

Hi folks...something a wee bit different from me tonight!

I have made this card for my friend's daughter who gets married next week...I can't wait!

Now Amy likes florals so I thought I would use some papers that I think she will like along with some flowers.  I watercoloured the hearts to match in and added some sequins and tiny hearts.  The banner was cut from the die-namics tag builder set.  I added the names using safmat...first time I have tried that!

Hope you like but I hope Amy likes!

Hello...

Hi everybody, hope you are well!

I have been manically busy with work, learning new stuff and having to do homework too but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

I made this card a couple of weeks ago, the inspiration came from the lovely Lori's tutorial on watercolor backdrops. If you're looking to make a quick card then this is the way to go...so easy and yet very effective.

First I cut a piece of watercolour card to size, the brush over with water making it quite wet, next I coloured up one of the background stamps with Spectrum Noir Aqua pens, I actually used 3 different shades of blue but I guess you could go with the one, and stamped onto the wet card.  The card absorbs the ink but because its wet the colour moves around so there's no two stamped images the same...it's fab!  I then used a versamark pad and inked up some sentiments and embossed with white embossing powder.

I layered onto coloured card and added some sequins to finish.
