Here's today's make...well I actually made it last week but just getting around to posting it.
The stamp is from Altenew and is called Smile More, I stamped the flowers and them embossed with gold embossing powder, I then cut them out using my scan n cut.
I then coloured the flowers and leaves using Spectrum Noir Aqua markers, I wanted the colours to loo like peacock feathers and it does but not sure you can see that in the photo. I added some splodges and sequins to finish.
Good morning everybody, I'm here sharing my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop which I actually made for my dad's 80th....don't think he was that impressed as it didn't have a boat, a fish or some kind of sport on it...
For today's card I have used one of the new Altenew stamps called Birthday Greetings,...this is a fab set and so many sentiments are included.
I inked up the balloon with different distress inks and stamped onto watercolor card, I spritzed some water over the top and gently pulled some of the colour from the balloons to colour the background.
I then used my distressed patterns stamp to stamp some little black splodges, I die cut the numbers from a spare piece of watercolour card that I had also coloured and then stamped one of the sentiments included in the set to finish.
For today's card I have used one of the new Altenew stamps called A Splash of Color, I have to say this is a fab set and it's amazing what you can do with the stamps...you know I like a splodge...watch this space!
I inked up of of the stamps with 4 different colours of distress inks, spritzed them with a light spray of water and then stamped onto watercolour card, then colours then bled together. I repeated another twice. I then used my distressed patterns stamp to stamp some little black splodges, stamped one of the sentiments included in the set and then added a few sequins to finish.
This month's theme is "anything goes" with the optional "love and friendship" theme. All you have to do is use some of the Spectrum Noir products.
For my card I have used these cute little owls from MFT - I'm Owl Yours stamp set and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Markers. I used GB8, GB10, BP2 and TN1. I die cut the hearts and arrow from one of the die-namics blueprints sets...which fitted the them perfectly.
You can also pop over to the Spectrum Noir blog to find out loads of tips and techniques on using all your Spectrum Noir products. Fi x
So for today's card \|I have used one of the new stamps from My Favourite Things - Floral Fantasy Background and white embossed it. I coloured it with distressed inks, blending the colours into each other.
I stamped and white embossed the stamp and the randomly coloured using my zig clean color brush pens. I then added a wash of water over the full image which blended out the colour making it quite soft and subtle.
I then die cut the sentiment which is also from My Favourite Things called Hello Beautiful. I added a few sequins to finish.
I thought I would show something different for this months tutorial, so here is my tutorial on how to paint or marble a ceramic mug using alcohol inks.
For this project you will need some Spectrum Noir Alcohol ink, rubbing alcohol and mod podge. I have used IB1, IB2 and BT1 inks.
First I cleaned the mug, and stuck some tape around the lip to protect from the ink, and then painted it with the rubbing alcohol.
I then loaded my paintbrush with some of the ink and painted around the bottom of the mug, I held the mug by the handle and moved it around to swirl the ink.
I then added another colour of ink and repeated the step above.
Again, repeating the steps above I added a third colour of ink.
I left the mug to the side to let the ink dry off and then I added a coat of mod podge to seal the ink. I only had the glitter mod podge which actually has given the mug a nice sparkle.
Today is my last day before going back to work tomorrow s I made a point of spending most of the day crafting!
I bought this stamp just before Christmas as I thought it was quite versatile and I could do lots with it...I haven't used all of the stamps in the set only the main one, still practising with the others.
The stamp is from Concorde and 9th and is called Hello Lovely. I stamped onto watercolour card and white embossed. I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils, I started with the lighter shades and then gradually added until I got the shade I wanted...I wanted it to look quite soft.
I stamped some splodges and the sentiment which are from the same set and then added a few sequins to finish.
today I am sharing my late DT card for My mum's Craft Shop. I just gota little buy on Friday and forgot to post this.
I have used Santa is Stuck from Stamping Bella...he is such a cute little Santa to colour and is available now from the My Mum's Craft Shop store. I have used my brand new Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens to colour this one...oh man they are sooooo juicy I love them!
The papers I have used are from Echo Park....which are cute too!
When I last made a card using this stamp, I did receive lots of comments so as it is bacck in stock now over on the My Mum's Craft Shop store, I thought I would show you what I did.
First I cut a piece of watercolour card to size.
Using the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set, I stamped up the flower and leaf using a veramark pad and then embossed the images with white embossing powder...I love white embossing with watercolouring.
Using my Zig clean Color Brush pens I first started colouring the leaves, just started with some colour at the stem ends and worked the colour out with a waterbrush.
Next I started in the centre of one of the flowers and not really being too precise, I coloured some yellow in the centre of the flower.
I then added some pink around the outside edges, this makes it easy to pull the colour from the edges and to blend with the yellow.
Using my waterbrush, I blended the yellow and pink together and then did the came on the next flower.
I just kept using the same process until all the flowers had been coloured.
I then went over all flowers and leaves added more colour util I got the shade I wanted....these pens are so vibrant you don't actually need that much colour.
I like to add shading around the images but instead of a normal greyish shadow I pulled the colour out from the flowers.... I think this is quite effective and it's a great way to cover up colour that has gone over the outside of the images.
I then loaded my waterbrush with colour and slashed some little splodges of colour...and then once dry I added some black splodges.
I have gone for the clean and simple look this time...not sure if it's just too plain for me as it's not my usual.....but I really loved the stamps and wanted to use them.
So the stamp I have used is from the Altenew Coffee Talk stamp set. I stamped the wording onto kraft card, then added some splodges....these splodges are one of the stamps in the set. I found a cup to use and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir Pens and then added some sequins to finish.
My name is Fiona, I am 50ish..lost track of my age!! I live in Bathgate, West Lothian. I work in an HR Department as HR Admin Manager of a large drinks company which I enjoy but in my spare time I like to make cards.I started cardmaking a few years ago and thoroughly enjoy it. I have always been into some kind of crafts especially knitting in the early days but have stuck with cardmaking. I was a trampoline coach but had to eventually give that up due to a back injury. I joined Slimming world in October 2011 and lost almost 3 stone however need to get back on track as I have since put a few pounds back on....
