Gift Wrapping

Good morning sugar fans....well it's almost the end of the week again...yay!!

We have had a mixture of weather this week in Scotland..sleet, hail, snow, wind, rain and sunshine....so with the rubbishy weather why not share some sugar love with us.

For todays card, my first Christmas card of the year I have used this topper called Gift Wrapping from Sugar Nellie which also comes in digi format which you can buy here.

The papers are from Lawn Fawn, called Snow Day.  I layered them onto card and followed my favourite sketch.  I added some ribbon and snowflakes too.

Remember we also have a new challenge over on the Sugar Bowl.

Pop back for more sugar inspiration tomorrow.

Colouring on kraft tutorial

Good morning everyone, I here with you today sharing my little tutorial for Spectrum Noir on how to colour on kraft using the blendable pencils.

First of all I stamped the image using white ink and then I embossed it using white detail embossing powder...I find this makes the colouring really easy.

Next start colouring the image using your favourite spectrum noir blendable pencils, for mine I have used yellows, oranges and reds...

Gradulally add more colour and build up the layering...

You don't have to be precise at this stage, just keep building up your colours...

The next is to blend the colours together using the blending solution, dip the end of the paper stump into the solution (don't over saturate it) and gradually blend each section, you can wipe away any excess colour sitting on the white detail with a dry cloth, leave the image to completely dry before adding it to your card.

Hey presto...the finished card, hope you likey!

pencils used:

flowers: 105, 026, 023, 025, 028, 019, 018, 088 and 014
leaves: 059, 046 and 044

Autum leaves

Good morning sugar fans....I just don't know where the days are going!!  One good thing though, it's light when I come home from work...yay!

So for todays card I have used this pretty little stamp called Autumn Leaves which is from the All Dressed Up range of stamps at Funky Kits.

I have used backing paper from LOTV, the used the spectrum noir aqua markers to colour up the circle, when it was almost dry I sprinkled some drops of water to lift the colour and give a bit of something.  I also coloured the image with the markers too....I am so loving these markers!!

pens used:
peach, kingfisher, gold, terracota, chocolate, blossom, bud green, lime and marigold.

Spectrum Noir February Challenge

Good morning folks, and here's my first post for Spectrum Noir!

I did a wee guest spot in December and couldn't believe my luck when I received an email asking if I would like to join the team permanently....now how could I resist that!

So for our challenge this month at Spectrum Noir it is to use the colour red....it doesn't have to be a valentines card.

I have used this beautiful image from Ching Chou Kuik called Wild Princess.  I coloured the image with spectrum noir pens, the papers were in my stash although I think they are from Prima Marketing, I layered the papers onto kraft card and did my usual doodling around the edges.  The flower has been from one of the die-namics blueprints sets.

FS2, FS6, FS8
EB8,
GB1, GB3, GB4, GB6, GB8, GB10,
CR9, CR11
