Poinsettia Girl

Good morning, and my scheduled Wednesday post over on the Sugar Nellie blog.

For today's card I have used this fabby image called "Poinsettia Girl" from Leanne Ellis at Sugar Nellie.

I coloured this little cutie with spectrum noirs, the dies are brand spanking new which I bought at the SECC at the weekend.  They are 2 separate dies...a Memory Box corner poinsettia and the other is from Poppy Dies....it actually took me a bit of time to build the flowers up.  I used both red and black card to cut out...I layered them up and then started chopping away the tiny red flowers to stick on the black...phew!!  I also added teeny weeny pearls the centres of the flowers. The backing paper is from Echo Park - Bundled Up which I layered onto black cardstock and then I distressed the edges.

Spectrums used:
FS2, FS3, FS6
DR1, DR3, DR5, DR7
BT1, BT5
EB1, EB2
GB8, GB10

challenges:
Spectrum Noir - embellishments
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Blossom

Good morning, and my scheduled Wednesday post over on the Sugar Nellie blog.

So for today's card I'm afraid it is very plain and simple as the colouring has taken almost since my last posting...very time consuming but I find it very therapeutic....still need practice though!!

This stamp is called "Fleur" and is from the Leanne Ellis range at Sugar Nellie!

I coloured Fleur with Derwent Inktense pencils....I am loving them!  The paper is from the Evergreen collection from Basic Grey which I layered onto kraft card. Did my usual doodling... The message has been in my stash forever but is from Stampin Up.

So does anybody have any tips for the inktense pencils??

Now sure how you can use them with digis but they are perfect with the rubber at Sugar Nellie...oh and I did hear there was rubber burning in the house of Sugar on Monday.....but the lovely Kate informed us it was a new delivery of rubber stamps....watch this space!!

Pop back for more sugar inspiration tomorrow.

Beauty in Bloom...

Good morning Sugar fans....happy hump day...yay the middle of the week!!

So this weeks card I wanted to use this super cute stamp called Day Dreamer Leanne Ellis range at Sugar Nellie. I stamped her using memento ink and coloured with copics, building up colour and then shaded with polychromos....I like using my pencils for the finishing touches as I can get a bit finer detail with them as sometimes the pens can bleed too much.

I found this paper pad at the SECC which also had lots of little embellishments to match, so of course needed to buy the lot, it's Curiosity Corner from Dovecraft.

This particular paper had a frame already printed on it so I thought it would be a good idea to make it look like a house from.  So I made the canopy roof type thing with my scallop border and just punched out a few strips....what do you think??

The paper was layered onto bazzill card and then I distressed around the edges.

A Little Hug...

Hello everyone...hope you are all enjoying your weekend!!  I have been a bit manic with work recently however this is the first weekend in a wee while that I haven't had to work so priorities right and a card was in the making!!

The lovely Abi sent me these papers and they are beautiful, gorgeous colours and right up my street...thank you my love!! So I hope you like what I have made with them...

So this is my favourite sketch...you may have noticed, I sometimes do a wee variation it it though...the stamp is "A Little Hug" from Leanne Ellis at Sugar Nellie, the papers are MME - Hattie, the flowers have been cut with 2 different die-namics dies, the buttons have also been cut using a die-namics die. The hearts have been cut with my sizzix hearts die....so I am not into valentines although I think this looks ok, non pink but with hearts.

I layers the papers onto kraft card and doodled around each of the edges of the layers, I also did a bit of distressing to the layers, I coloured the image with copics and then shaded with polychromos.  I layered the image onto the card and added a ribbon and tied a little bow at the side.  I attached a die cut button and charm, added the die cut flowers and hearts. The sentiment is from Personal Impressions which I thought matched the image well...
