Happy Mother's Day

Good morning folks....this is early I know but I have lots to do today so a couple of posts first. I sat up til stupid o'clock last night(as Faye would say) finishing this card....I hope my mum will like it...she doesn't do character ones. This is my first card using my new sewing machine...it might me a bit to get used to it as some of the knobs and levers are not in the same place as my old one and it seems to not go right into the corners...so if anybody can give me any tips on how to make it stitch right into the corner rather than it pulling round the corner that would be great. I think I will have a bash at zig zag next....oh I am easy pleased!!
The papers are from MME - So Sophie Charming collection which really are beautiful...may use them a lot over the next couple of week as they are my favourite colours too...brown, green and blue...I just love that colour combo!!
The image is a digi but to be honest I cannot remember where I got it..coloured it with copics and added some glitter. The message is from Hero Arts. I have entered the following challenges.

Sketch Saturday - sketch
Allsorts - special lady
CYDA - mum
Creative Inspirations - mum
The Crafty Pad - mum
Cupcake Craft Challenge - flowers for mum
Paperplay - mum
Crafter's Companion - aqua and brown
Stamp something - digi

Gorgeous card Fi, those roses and papers are stunning.
When I sew I go down in a straight line and when you get to the corner, you leave the needle down in the paper/material and lift the foot and turn paper to then go down the next side, you DO need to leave the needle IN the paper tho. If you do this the corner will be very crisp. Debbiexx

Fi, this is beautiful, your Mum will love it.
I can't give you tips for sewing, my machine hated me that much that it committed hari-kari and is now in sewing machine heaven!!
You've done a marvellous job though.
Thank you for joining in the fun at sketch saturday

Gorgeous card Fi :o) Love the image and those papers look lovely... I'm not looking too closely though - I just ordered some more papers a couple of days ago and I CAN'T let myself buy more! Lisa x

Ooh Fi, I do like this - it's great to see something a bit different. The stitching is lovely, too. I agree with Debbie about stopping at the corner, keeping the needle in and turning the paper. I should do more stitching on my cards 'cos I love the look but I often can't be faffed getting the machine out of the cupboard! Hugs, Tracey xx

Hi Fi what a lovley card, i'm sure your mum will love it :O)
I had to laugh when you mentiond 'Stupid hour' Lol I'm going to have to start uing that frase too :O))
About your sewing machine, if it still 'rounds' the corners even when you leave the needle in the paper at the corner then it means that your top thread is too tight, try to adjust it and do some tests on scrap paper until you find the right setting. I had the same problem with my machine :O)
Good luck!
Have a good weekend

What a precious card! I love the card design, it is so unique. These colors are my fav too. The stitching just adds to the charm of your card. I agree with the tips that the other ladies had for your corners. Nina had a good suggestion too...test your thread tension. The stitches should look even and not be pulling. I use my old machine for crafting so I can keep the needle sharp on my good machine for cloth sewing...just a thought. Have fun with your machine. Thanks for joining us this week at The Crafty Pad for our "Mother's Day" challenge. Hope you will join us again on Sunday for our next challenge. Don't forget our mid-week challenge too..lots of wonderful prizes offered :)

Love that card Fi, it's beautiful and the triangles are a lovely different touch. I agree with most on here, keep the needle down in the paper before you turn corners and your tension does look a tiny bit too tight and it's pulling the corners over try loosening it just a bit. Still a gorgeous card.
