Spectrum Noir tutorial - Aquatints

Hi everybody...hope you are all well!

Today I am going to show you how to make a coloured background using Spectrum Noir Aquatints...this is something totally different for me but i thought I would give it a go.

First of all, I wanted to give the background a bit of texture so I painted some masking fluid on a stencil and I stamped this onto the card and left it for a few minuted to dry.

So I wasn't sure if I should cover the card in water first to dilute the color a bit but as I wanted it to look really bright I decided to paint the Aquatint directly onto the card, I brushed the pink Aquatint over the card, notice how it hasn't stuck to the masking fluid.

I repeated the above step using orange and overlapped a bit with the pink.

Then I added the yellow and again made it overlap with the orange.

Next I brushed out the colour so the lines weren't so defined, this doesn't need to be perfect.

I repeated the above step adding a bit more colour just to make it a bit more vibrant.

Next I stamped up some stamps and randomly stamped all over.  The stamps are from Crafters Companion and are called Journal Jottings.

I rubbed off the masking fluid with my finger, layered the panel onto black cardstock and added some sequins and glitter to finish off....hope you likey!
